GTA 6 PC Release Date: Is GTA 6 Coming to PC? Everything We Actually Know
GTA 6 isn't coming to PC at launch, and Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version at all. The game releases on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There's no PC release date, no announced Steam or Epic Games Store version, and no official PC system requirements.
A PC version is widely expected eventually, because every recent Grand Theft Auto has reached PC. But "expected" isn't "announced", and Rockstar's own history shows the wait can be anything from months to years. This is everything that's on the record.

Rockstar's pre-order announcement lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and so does every official store listing. The PlayStation Store states plainly that GTA 6 is "not available for PS4". For the full timeline of how the console date moved, see our GTA 6 release date page.
What Take-Two has actually said
Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company, has talked about PC in general terms but hasn't committed to anything for GTA 6.
At Take-Two's shareholder meeting on September 17, 2026, CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about PC. According to PC Gamer and GamesRadar, he said the company aims to "launch for any platforms for which there's a meaningful audience", and added that "the PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company over time."
GamesRadar also reports an earlier comment from Zelnick explaining the console-first launch: "Historically, Rockstar's gone to console first."
That's everything on the record. No one at Rockstar or Take-Two has given a PC date, a year, or a confirmation that a PC version is in development.

The GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 console dates come from Take-Two's own announcements, as does the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC date. The GTA V and original Red Dead Redemption PC dates are from HEXUS and Gematsu reporting at the time.
What that history does and doesn't tell us
It tells us Rockstar's big recent releases have come to PC after consoles, usually a year or more later. Red Dead Redemption 2 also launched on PC through the Rockstar Games Launcher, the Epic Games Store and other digital stores first, with Steam following in December, according to Take-Two's announcement.
It doesn't tell us when GTA 6 will come to PC, or even that it definitely will. Each of those games had its own circumstances, and Red Dead Redemption shows a gap can stretch for years. You'll see sites turning these gaps into a predicted "GTA 6 PC release date" in 2027 or 2028. That's guesswork dressed up as a date. We'll give you a real date when Rockstar does.
GTA 6 on Steam and the Epic Games Store
Rockstar hasn't announced GTA 6 for Steam, the Epic Games Store or its own PC launcher. Its recent PC releases have used the Rockstar Games Launcher alongside Steam and Epic, so if a PC version is announced, those are the likely stores. Until then, treat any "GTA 6" store page or pre-order for PC as unofficial at best.
GTA 6 PC requirements
There are no official GTA 6 PC requirements. Rockstar hasn't published minimum or recommended specs, because it hasn't announced a PC version. Any spec list you see now, however detailed, is somebody's estimate. Don't buy hardware specifically for GTA 6 on the strength of one.
Watch out for fake GTA 6 PC downloads
Because PC players are keen and there's no official version, fake downloads are everywhere. In June 2026, TechRadar reported that security firms Malwarebytes and NordVPN had found sites pushing fake GTA VI builds, including malware that gives scammers remote access to your device. Some targeted PC and Android specifically.

What PC players can do right now
- Wait for an official announcement. It will come from Rockstar's Newswire and Take-Two, not from a leak or a store page that appears out of nowhere.
- Play on console. If you want to play at launch, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S is the only option. Australian players can check the exact Australian unlock time for each city.
- Don't pre-order anything for PC. There's nothing official to pre-order.
GTA 6 PC FAQ
Is GTA 6 coming out on PC? Not at launch, and a PC version hasn't been announced. One is widely expected eventually, but Rockstar hasn't confirmed it.
When will GTA 6 come to PC? Nobody outside Rockstar knows. GTA V took about 19 months and Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year, but neither is a guide to GTA 6.
Will GTA 6 be on Steam? Not announced. Rockstar's recent PC games have released on Steam, but there's no GTA 6 PC version to sell yet.
Can I play GTA 6 on PC through Xbox? Rockstar and Microsoft have only announced the Xbox Series X|S version. Nothing has been said about playing it on Windows.
